What is the relationship NOFOLLOW attributes?

Most blogs use NOFOLLOW in the commentary, but I see that Google displays the comments in my search results page!
What sense NOFOLLOW?

I know that he, when Google indexes your blog URL, as well as from the comments. But I get confused about the meaning of NOFOLLOW now.

You are confusing "NOINDEX" to "NOFOLLOW". To ensure that your comments do not appear on Google search results, the owner of the blog will use the robots meta tag with "NOINDEX" attribute, which reads as follows:

This meta-tag that search engines do not index the site, and therefore not included in the search.

Most blogs use a comment link on the other hand, is "NOFOLLOW" attribute. Contact with "NOFOLLOW", including condoms link will look like this:

link text

If the robot is searching for that link, which is not to crawl a site on the other end (at least not here). In addition, the link is not PageRank of your site, which has received. This is what makes Google, when it comes to using NOFOLLOW links:

We adhere to them. This means that Google does not pass PageRank or anchor text for these links. Essentially NOFOLLOW us the main goal of our image links on the website. Nevertheless, the purpose of the pages can still be in our index if other sites that link to them without NOFOLLOW, or if the URL sent to Google on the Web site. It is also important to note that other search engines can NOFOLLOW in slightly modified form.

When should I use "NOFOLLOW" attribute to work with Google's policies? In three cases:

1. If you are unsure about the quality of the content on the site you're linking to
2. If someone has a link (for example, the company buys ads on your blog)
3. If a page at the end of any traces of compounds (for example, a link that to access a password-protected page)

So, why the owner of the blog "NOFOLLOW" attribute in the comments section of my links? Since they could not verify the quality of web sites around the world, based on the comments. To avoid spammers or bad neighbors, only NOFOLLOW links.

Pay attention to the fact that there are two ways to obtain "NOFOLLOW" attribute this to a friend. You can do this on a global scale, based on the meta-tag and NOFOLLOW all links in this page, or you can use it on the spot, and add "NOFOLLOW" attribute only certain links.

The first requires the following code in the head section of the site:

Secondly, the same as the previous example.

These 10 tips for writing a message is always popular

The popular post, you can increase traffic and links to more than one month, the value of their content.

In this position, I have a problem with the possibility of his blog in the stratosphere.

Take the next entry to write, it is increasingly popular.

The following ten tips from my key recommendations to combat this problem. I have pressure on the Digg home for the first time. There is no model that will continue to contribute enormously popular, but do not have the opportunity, if you try. I am confident that these tips to get you a good chance of success.

1. Time is more important than talent. Work on it for eight hours, and you can bet it will be fine. There is no need to spend so much time, but (even if this time it takes me to the vehicles, the first record that I wrote a hit Digg front page). More time means that you and fill in the form of its work with great courage. Take time to actually ship them. If the finished product.

2. Use your best ideas. He was never popular, unless they are in focus. What is your niche, it wants to, but have not yet done so? Can you drive a lot of really impressive (directed) resources in one place? Item for those who would do better.

3. Use formatting in your favor. These days, the media is an important factor in their record in the stratosphere. Members of the media are too spoiled for choice, however. Use the formatting of the best aspects of his work. Hone your funny line, its deepest level boards, your best resources. They differ.

4. Keep brainstorming. There are probably one or two bloggers who completely dominated the art of writing the news in the media (you know what they are). The rest of us are not blessed with such skills. If you have a high level, it is likely that option # 12 from a dozen options. Few of us can be a new banner. Spend brainstorm for ten minutes, and that is committed to stumble upon something that works. Weak owners, their chances of success. It is essential that you have a good job.

5. Invest a lot in his office. Always, or they voted for something without reading? All that we have done. Because of the "Wow" factor - the availability of sufficient importance promised a place in the reader excited about the message immediately. For 5 points, then why not 50? 9 Instead of resources, why not 40 or more?

7. Beauty is in the eyes of beholder. If your work is good, the reader will take time to take photographs, models and formats that you might think. Make a list of visual feast. With so many Web content in a sparing, his work is guaranteed to be highlighted.

8. Tell them that we are talking about. Viewers missed her introduction waffly. You can say the same, fewer words, especially if you write on the impatient reader: Who wants to be just in your tips / resources / opinions. Use the introduction to this reason, the reader should cling to his post. There is reason, I was primarily responsible for the introduction: "In this post I will do it, this and this." This is what people really want to know: What do I get in return for my attention?

9. Sending a message with a link. The best way to make Blogger blog to your studies, with links to them. We have a natural desire to learn that say about us. If your mail is very popular, each reference to send out enough to be invested. Be generous with outbound links to write e-mails have become very popular. There is an incentive for other bloggers to communicate with you, because it is ultimately more encouraging for them.

10. Using the network. If you want people to Digg, Reddit Stumble or because there is no reason why we should use your fingers crossed and hope that this will happen. Ask him. His loyal readers like you. They entertain, or their, or help them. If the vote is a simple matter of clicking on the link, which will be more happy than to do so. Ask for votes in his office and read e-mail and social influence of the media. In most cases, a rolling snowball. Then, on the other hand, most of the work for you.

Bonus tip:

11. Think about what works. The most popular posts so far. What about them? Why work? What do we not? The creation of the most popular because it is very important to learn by example, and build on what was in your blog in the past. Another good idea is the most popular posts on other blogs in a niche. Why work? What is remarkable about them? You can use these properties in more than they write.

What happens to my PageRank, if I delete my blog?

I have a second blog. I want to change what I write in my blog. I URL, even if the hosts. Question: If I delete all categories and positions that are currently in this blog, but argued that the URL, the host name, and I lost the title page now?

Keep in mind that some time ago we had a Q and on Google PageRank. This shows that we have the three most important factors contributing to their PageRank are:

1. Number of backlinks
2. Quality Check
3. Relevance Backward

If you delete all records, and categories of Web-pages, and start from scratch, it would take most of their PageRank. Inverse remains in force, but to non-existent pages, and, consequently, 404-message, you can check how Google and broken links.

Note that I said "most" in PageRank, but because of the likelihood that part of his remains. How can that be? I suppose that because the site was a lot of backlinks to your root domain (at home) and as a backup connection. If you are subject to the site, which will lose some relevance, but still exists.

One way that you like this site and get a new domain for your new blog. This would be especially if you have the organic movement. They may be more ads in this country and get money, but rather attention to the new project.

Should I buy text links for SEO?

If someone buys a text link for one month on the site to accommodate SE - enough, or you may have to stay at least two months? Google will be alerted when someone removed the link? How long people will buy text links are the rules?

First, I do not recommend the purchase of text links for search engine optimization (SEO) is. Although the practice is widespread and relatively safe until a few years ago, in 2008, Google made a special effort to fight.

Its goal is to make your job search algorithm as efficiently as possible to ensure that, if your search engine to find exactly what I was looking for. That is what we in the economy, in the end.

Paid links can change the search results (eg, Google), so they tried to close the practice of the Internet. Many sites that sell (and some who purchase) shall be punished in the past year, and most webmasters plays just in case.

Now I'm not saying that the purchase of text links for SEO this is true or false. There are strong arguments on both sides. But we must accept that Google has its own search engine, as well as the right to change the rules. To view a list of search you want to communicate with their rules. Period.

Some people do not know about these rules and try to fly under the radar. This strategy is risky but, in my opinion. It is how to cheat at poker. If you do not understand you, they can be good money. If they do, you're in trouble.

How you play depends on you, and I am not here to preach to everybody.

Back to the original question: If you have text links for SEO, but must be preserved?

The answer depends on your goals.
Some people just want a site indexed faster. In this case, buying the bonds of trust to the site within a month should be enough (for which, in fact, a link to buy a couple of days, you have already indexed).

If your goal is that your ranking on the search for key words, and their total organic movement, but it is necessary that the paid links to live permanently.

Why? As Google constantly monitor links to your site for conversion rate the overall level of confidence. Suppose you have an article about "Superman comic book that space" on page 2 of Google's request. Then you buy a text link on a Web site popular comic book, and it increases your link to the main second result on Google. If after one month, the site us as quickly as Google "spiders" and notes that the link was immediately re-search ranking, and if all other variables remained the same, return to the second page of search results.

Sometimes it may take time to effect a link removed, as some Web sites are crawled only occasionally. Sooner or later, Google will crawl, however, and if you bought a link, because there are no more search results ranking.

8 Optimization Tips Adsense Units

Adsense is one of the most common revenue generator for blogs and websites. As a rule, you can significantly improve your CTR on the basis of the course, and the total revenue by placing ads wisely, by improving the targeting, or by optimizing ad units directly. Here I will cover the last moment, how to optimize Adsense unit of 8 simple tips:

1. The three best performing ad units: 336 × 280 large rectangle, 300 × 250 rectangular banner and 160 × 600 wide skyscraper. Consider the use of these units, if possible, but keep in mind that other formats may be more suitable for your web design.
2. The most successful link color blue. It is connected with the roots of the Internet, where all the major web sites used for the function of blue links.
3. In addition to blue links, you can also use a link color, which corresponds to the structure of your site (for example, if you use green links do Adsense links of the same color).
4. As a general rule, the mixture (without borders, the same background) your Adsense units, if your site has a light color and contrast (border, contrasting background) units, if you use a dark color
5. If the ads are placed in the content, you should avoid the use of borders and the ad units for the content of the borders can be used to attract attention.
6. If your site is mainly repeat visitors (eg forums), you can rotate the background color of your ad units to reduce blindness
7. Consider removing the "Advertise on this site?? The message from your office. This can be done on the control panel in the "My Account" section, disable "Onsite Advertiser?? feature.
8. The tests, inspections and tests. Each site is unique, so you test with different colors and forms, and track the results to fine tune your Adsense units.

Some interesting styles of blogging

Here are some of the unique style of blogs, which you may find interesting.

1. Techcrunch - If there is news about X launch a new product called Y, the majority of technology blogs will simply publish the news that with his comments, but it is not easy to Arrington. His trainees will first create a new position for the X and Y on the product, then CrunchBase news will be available at the main site TechCrunch with the company or the name of the person are often references to CrunchBase entry instead of the official Web site.

2. Jason Calacanis - Most people think that the founder of Mahalo Jason has quit blogging, but it is not. The only difference is that Jason is now uses the letter to the editor to write his blog, instead of some blog editor - his message, even to get published in the blog entries (see example) and can be read through the channels.

3. Bold Fireball - Apple guru John Gruber has a very unique style of blogs. The name of the blog articles do not indicate that a permanent post, but instead their relationship with the main story, that John was commenting on. Subscribe to his feed, and you are sure to fall in love with this style links.

4. John Battelle - Although the majority of bloggers (list crowd included) to worry about writing attention capture headlines, John knows how to convey his message, using a liner. See examples of John search blog here, here and here - you get the picture without reading the essays.

When something interesting or media posted on the forums, Philip "encouraging" that the thread to include it in my blog, as well as the attributes of the person who originally started that thread.

6. Matt Drudge - The design may look ugly, but the Drudge Report, the first site, which broke the news about the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal, is clearly the most "selfless" blog on the Internet. This one-page blog consists only of links to other sites and news columns.

7. Dave Winer - Ask any "blog guru" of his secret recipes, and they always recommend one thing - to add good quality photos (or screens), in blogs to make them more "attractive." Another unique feature of Dave's Blog is that you can directly link to any item in the blog - just to get the URL of the # sign.

8. Engadget - Engadget look at any paper, and you will see that all the links, except one, are internal and point to one of their own articles. Source (if any) is due at the end of the anchor text reads the same for all external links - Read. Here is an example.

How do you promote your site: New leadership

Direct selling is probably the best way to economically site. Search for advertisers, and in fact, the closing of the offer, but it is not so simple. In the past 6 months, I have more than 10 high-ranking companies sponsor daily blog tips, and to this article, I will share what I learned along the way.

Pluses
* More money: The first advantage to sell your own ads is the fact that the reduction of intermediaries, their potential earnings. Suppose you sell text link ads in the sidebar in the company, and text links for sale at $ 50 a month. With regard to the corporate network to sell ads, eats 50% of the cost, but the final result will only earn $ 25 per month for each text link. If someone is willing to pay $ 50 for a text link to your site, however, means that there is $ 50, from the cost. Why, then with someone else?
* Independence: Of course, the large advertising networks have access to a wide range of advertisers and enhance the authority to close the deal. But if all the requirements (see below), and spend some time in the right place, I am sure you will be able to their own ads as efficiently as the large networks.
* Flexibility: The third advantage of direct sales is that you have much more control over where and how ads are displayed (for example, you can avoid intrusive ads). Google AdSense not bad, but if it is not the content - upset some readers - it is terribly low CTRs.
* Reliability: Finally, we have sponsors and advertisers directly to your blog can be your credibility. Even a small and poorly developed AdSense blog can stick here and there. Once it is determined that the company is ready for a partnership with your site, on the other hand, may indicate that the content and quality of the site is a professional.

The Constitution
Time consumption: When selling their own ad has many advantages, not a panacea. The first drawback of this option is the monetization of time. At this time, the cost to optimize your ads, the search for potential advertisers to engage with the negotiations, and administrative matters (for example, payments, tracking statistics, supplies, etc.).
* Many of the direct requirements is not as simple as money from Google AdSense. As you can see in the next section, a popular blog, professional-looking design, software, and the like.
Unstable: * If you close down for long periods of time, which is likely to find your car looking for new advertisers and site optimization for each new month. The opposite is the case for most commercial networks, where you just code, and that the rest of the work. (If your site or blog, it's just a hobby, therefore, direct mail can not be the best option)

What you need
* Web-site: Before landing, direct mail addresses, you must be a good number of visits to your site. There is no "magic" in this matter, but a good rule of thumb would be only 1,000 visitors a day. If you are under the brands should be focused on the development of transport instead of promising to advertisers. Other factors, such as Google PageRank, Alexa Place and RSS Subscribers can also help. (Note that small objects can also sell advertising directly, but usually the time that the result can not be justified)
* A clear focus: you can use the most popular sites on the Internet (for example, but not as extreme, but you get the point), but if your site has a clear niche, and the public, advertisers are not very attractive. This means that you should not be about 100 different items on the website. Advertisers want to post some of the people, specifically, the better.
* Professional-looking design: If you plan to use on your Web site sponsor, who will likely spend money on a professional design. Advertisers using your product or service on your site, and not many are ready to talk to look ugly site MySpace.
* Visible to sponsors: This is in connection with the previous. Not all the patterns and themes are suitable for direct sales. Preferably you understand what types of advertising, which were sold (for example, 468 × 60 banner, 125 × 125 banners, text links), and the design of the site in order to achieve these goals. Advertisers want the appearance of a good place for them.
* AdServer software: In order for your ad banners and make the band set AdServer statistics. If you have a simple solution to try WP ads. Wordpress plugin for ads to specific special zones to be established. The only drawback is that he did not think it clicks (single print). If you're demanding test OpenAds. You need some time to learn to use it, but it offers almost everything you ever need.
* Advertising of this page: It is very important that the advertising of this page. On this page, want some details about the site, as well as the public, traffic and other factors that may be of interest to potential advertisers. Secondly, make sure that there is a link to this page in the navigation bar, and, if possible, near an area where the ad. You can see an excellent example of this situation in Copyblogger.com.
* Sample letter to advertisers: While some advertisers are you after reading your "Advertising of this page, the rest should be done directly from you. In this case, it's a good idea, the form of a letter to advertisers. There is no single solution for everything here, but you can find some general recommendations:

1. Presented and briefly explained that the e-mail
2. Explain why you decided to join with them and that they should win
3. Provide information about your site (traffic, the user, which is the theme, the audience)
4. For information about advertising opportunities (at the maximum number of advertisers, the monthly fee)

That is according to the information, the advertisers should be able to decide whether they are interested. If so, you will arrange the details. Keep in mind that all information should be provided in paragraphs 2 and 3 if you pass an examination for potential advertisers, he simply ignored it.
* We accept payment: You can do everything, but if they are not in cash - or more importantly, if an advertiser can not pay - the loss of business. PayPal is the best choice here. Note, however, that the personal account will not be enough. You must have at least one of the first to accept credit cards.

Where to find advertisers
Once your direct mail program to begin an investigation with the people. Initially, however, advertisers should look. Do not worry if you initially rejected because you have all of the above requirements, then sooner or later you will find those who have the photo on your site.

* People with a link to your site or article: If a company is ready to make a link to an article or add your site in the "Links" and "resources" section, perhaps to discuss the advertising on your site. Track incoming links.
* People and comments by e-mail: This same principle applies to people who comment on your blog or email. To see how an employee or owner of a company that might be interested in your site, bingo! Contact him or her and talk.
* AdWords advertisers: search advertisers, you can see that most employees do not know about the benefits of advertising on the Internet. If the money was for Google AdWords, but it can be very open to other forms of online advertising. Think of some keywords that are relevant to their subject matter and Google. Check the "Sponsored Links", which, in contact with them. (You can also use the advertisers on the Web sites blocked AdSense)
* Other ad network Google AdWords Although today is the largest network of online advertising, there are many others that could be useful. Make sure that the money for AdBrite, Text-Link-Ads, Blogads, SponsoredReviews and so on.
* Banner ads on sites in a similar referendum in your niche site and see what companies are advertising. If you are interested (eg, fair price for its size), I am sure that you are interested.
* Create a "potential donors" folder: This technique produces an excellent result for me. I have a folder in your browser, called "potential sponsors." Every time I have a company or site that are interested in my sponsors of the site, I bookmark. I have more than 100 sites in this folder, and I do not half of them yet.

How many goods
* You must evaluate the cost. A potential advertiser or sponsor wants to see some benefits for the money they spend on your site, and it may be visible (impressions) and (clicks and sales). Make sure that their advertising is deemed to be met.
* Data: Keep in mind that there are some very effective advertising opportunities exist (for example, Google AdWords), as well as competitive. Whenever a good place for sponsors (in the sidebar or header, preferably), which can then be $ 0,5 CPM (cost per 1000 impressions). If your blog generates 100,000 page views a month, so the banner of the lateral field, valued at about $ 50. Start with low-and their way to the summit. Popular (eg Techcrunch) have a higher cost per thousand impressions, and sometimes reaches $ 10, but he takes great confidence in achieving.
* Cross-check: You can easily verify the type of your AdSense pages directly sell advertising. Look at how much profit from Adsense, and adjust their prices accordingly. Secondly, you can also similar sites that sell ads directly.
* Be flexible in terms of: Flexibility is the key. First, the agreements relating to advertising in the month. People do not make something that is not quite sure. If someone offers you a more equitable return back.
Proposal Court: If you have a very popular site, you will find potential advertisers want to spend real money. If you believe that the transaction creating value for both sides, but you can benefit them. We offer a free trial period if necessary. Some time advertiser lights after you, but sometimes they will confirm this. All you have nothing to lose.

How to encourage local blog?

How would you promote the site / blog, which focuses on local events. I know there is a Facebook. Other outposts that should be used?

Interesting question. The first thing that you can try, as you said, is to find sites of social networks and Web 2.0 services, which allow users to filter, region or city.

Facebook is one of them, but you can also try Craigslist, for example. Why not post an ad that you're looking for readers, and in return you offer some interesting and exciting books?

Other services that you can try to include LinkedIn, Squidoo, HubPages, and so on.

If you have a budget for marketing, PPC advertising is an excellent opportunity to obtain high-quality traffic. With Google AdWords, you can specify not only the keywords that you want to bid, but also to the geographic regions ads should be shown.

Another channel that you could study the local Internet. This means that all the blogs, Web sites and online companies, focusing exclusively on your region. Once you've identified these sites (Google is your friend), it is simply a question of approach to them to see how to cooperate in order to increase each movement and impact. Banner exchange, link exchange, cross reviews, you just need to get creative.

Finally, offline marketing can be a good investment for a local websites. Suppose you have a blog about the news is indeed a small town (say, 20,000 people). Getting the announcement of the Sunday edition of local newspaper could bring good results, and it should not, that costs significantly.

Is PageRank only on the number of backlinks?

The first thing you must remember that there are two PageRank. Par, which will appear on your toolbar, Google, once every three months or so, but in reality, which is constantly updated and will be in the Google search algorithm.

First, only a hint for webmasters, the second will have a direct impact on their quest for votes.

Now back to your question, PageRank is not only depends on the number of incoming links, including links?

The answer is no.
The number of backward doubt plays an important role, but Google will also carefully examine the quality and relevance of those links.

As I have in mind the full confidence that a Web site linked to it. Links from the Stanford University will have a better quality than the sister of his blog. Another form of power is the quality of conversation.

I am referring to the relevance of proximity to the content on the Internet that connects you, your own content. If you have a blog about cats, a link from your blog's sister said that the only cat to be more than a link from the Department of quantum physics at Stanford University (if you're talking about Schrödinger cat, but it is a joke that only those who love nature ...).

Let us an example to understand this better. Suppose that only two blogs, and B. Both speak of technology blogs. In the first blog you decide to buy, and 30 small independent sites attacked (most of whom are not even the beginning of PageRank). The second blog, and just the quality of paper, and that the article on the front page of Tech Crunch.

If you wait three months, and nothing in the blogs, it is likely that the early end of PageRank is not everything, while the latter is likely to culminate in PR1.

Some other interesting facts about PageRank:

* Many people believe that the scale of logarithic PageRank, which means that the increase in PR is difficult to measure (for example, from PR5 to PR6 difficult PR2 to PR3)
* Is it not also true PageRank from 0 to 10, which is the only criterion for the nominal
* PageRank is only one factor in the Google search algorithm so that a high PR with high search rankings
* Your internal and external links can affect your PageRank
* Update the contents and have no impact on PageRank

The most expensive domain names

Making Money in a chat about how to obtain a large size (but not the suppression of radio ads on your site)

I see this too often:
* The guy reads on some blog or Web site that you can work from home and make thousands of dollars from the Internet.
* Guy gets excited and creates a Web site or blog.
* Guy starts to get some movement, and as soon as it jams your site with all types of ads. CPM banners 125 × 125 buttons, Google Adsense, Kontera, and so on.
* Guy wonders why they do so only $ 100 per month after hard work

When I come across these small Web sites with ads hammered get the impression that the owner was trying to milk every last penny of the viewers who go there, rather than grow the site.

Of course, depending on your luck and skill, you can eventually make a couple of hundred dollars every month. But what you have to? Even if you can reach $ 1000 per month. Is that your ultimate goal?

The problem with this approach is twofold. First of all, when you have Service Pack Web site with ads all over the place, you can damage your reputation. Some readers will think that you're just trying to make a quick male, and they will probably never return.

Secondly, when you try to make as much money as possible from the Web site, did not even get 1000 uniques day, you automatically start with the wrong mindset. You have to adjust their goals, respectively, are likely to limit your potential for growth.

Now you may ask: "What about sites like TechCrunch or Mashable, who also have ads all over the place?"

Well, these sites have a very large audience, and great credibility in the market. Once you have at this point, you probably could pull off large-format ads without facing too many problems. But I am sure that when Michael Arrington started TechCrunch its main purpose was to blog authority to its niche, not to squeeze money out of the early visitors.

Note that even the big sites will blend with the content of advertisements and the use of intrusive forms of advertising as pop-ups, and in the ad text.

Takeaway message: if you want to make money online, look for a big and credible, then his money.

How to monetize domain names

Domain names real estate on the Internet, and domainers make money from buying, parking and sell them. Even if you are not trying to make a living with domain names, always a good idea to know how they work. You can start another blog in the future, and thus having a good portfolio of domains can be useful.

Aviva has published an extensive article entitled "How to Start a Domainer", describing the domain buying strategies, best practices, as revenue from domain and so on. Below you will find some takeaways from the article:

* If you want to make money from domains search keyword typographical errors (for example, Mortgeges.com)
* Consider the use of automated domain research tools, as AjaxWhois.com
* In a domain for a long time, do not forget to activate the automatic update
* Avoid numbers and hyphens in domain names
* Be careful with the domain pinchers (people who register domains using information from our WHOIS) and thieves
* In order to profit from your domain, you can either park or redirect them into a single movement of the reservoir site is own PPC ads

AdSense for domains is now open for all

Domain parking companies will likely take on the strike. Until yesterday, if you have a lot of unused domain names, and would like their money you have only one option: to register an account with a domain registrar or a parking company, and let them run ads on your domain while you (small) percentage of profit per click.

Google AdSense for domains product was, but only people with large portfolios can have access to it.

Today, they offer the product to all publishers, so even if you have a domain 3 laying around you will now be able to put AdSense on them.

Do not expect to get some money with the killers, apparently. Nevertheless, I am confident he will be more money that could have been done before with the domain parking company (if you are taking nothing for the middle man).

If you want to use this feature, you simply need to log in to your AdSense account and click "Configure AdSense" tab, and should not be "AdSense for Domains" option exists. It is currently only available in the U.S., although the publishers AdSense, Google, but it should be extended to everyone else in the near future.

Google PageRank dropped? There is no reason for concern

The most recent PageRank update sparked some intense discussion in the blogosphere with people like Steve Rubel, John Battelle, Danny Sullivan and Dave McClure joining the conversation.

Danny Sullivan was surprised when Google PageRank of SEL has dropped from 7 to 6 - "Not that this is important, but it is no good reason to happen." Matt Cutts then pointed to this article by Udi Manber, who suggests that Google "has made significant changes to the PageRank algorithm in January, and that may be the cause of the fall in PageRank.

John Battelle asked Google PageRank reduction or complete or "Give us more granularity, so that users know how to, how that PageRank data used to determine the value of the Google economy."

Dave McClure has made a very intelligent comment, I say "if PageRank does not matter, why is it so you can see displayed in the taskbar?" His reasoning is that if PageRank does not matter to completely remove it from the toolbar, but if it matters, then Google should offer more explanation.

Steve find agree that Google PageRank, although imperfect, are still up on the "network of influence", as he judges you based on the links of all kinds of sources, not just people who live in the same fish tank .. Creating high-quality content that earns links from other sources, quality and, over time, your Google Page Rank, as increasing your influence and responsibility. "

Finally, Vanessa Fox has jumped in some great ideas. She ex-Googler and best known for the creation of Google Webmaster Central - a tool that has proved so useful for publishers.

Vanessa said that Google supports two different PageRanks - one internal, which is evaluated on a regular basis, but the one that you see on the Google Toolbar is an external PageRank, that is updated infrequently. So if your current PR is displayed as 5, the actual PR may be 2 or even 7, and you'll know it is only during the next round of updates PageRank.

Vanessa points to a comment by Matt Cutts, where he said that PageRank is only one of the 200 + signals Google uses for ranking Web pages in search results.

PageRank my Blogger blog has dropped from 7 to 6, in this update, but it is something that really does not matter. Vanessa quote again: "If there is one thing that PageRank is not, the definition of your Google footprint.
